I had been there 17 minutes when I first saw her moving slow but steady though the cedars. She made her way down the hill about 100 yards before she seemed to realize she was running out of cover."

Big Mo from Texas, and the Stone (dead) Coyote Raspy Reaper:
Because I was thinking about the possibility of a nice fat Bobcat here I was carring my 22 Magnum loaded with CCI 30gr V-max's. This is the first stand with this ammo and I was looking forward to testing its performance on predators UNDER 75 yards. Most of my cats have been shot at fairly close range ....under 50 yards.
I started out with a few soft but pitiful squeals from my old Weems Wild Call. I only waited a minute or so before repeating the plea's of a distressed rabbit. Two maybe 3 minutes later I began screaming bloody murder on my "Raspy Reaper" from Stone Coyote Calls. Immediatly I see ole wiley pop out in the lane and start trotting straight at me. "This aint right.....I expected a Bobcat." Oh well here he comes none the wiser.
About 40 yards up the lane he sees something he does not like and bounces side ways to a halt. Glint or just me I dont know but he saw something. He's looking back and forth at me and then the twister.
CCI 22mag 30gr V-Max, 30 year old Weems Wild Call, and a brand new Stone Coyote "Raspy Reeper"
Thanks Rudy for the fur

Big Mo, from Texas, and a string full of Stone Coyote Calls.
Here are some excerpts from his hunting story:
I finally got around to trying a great set of calls that I purchased from a call maker I met here on our forum. Rudy is the man behind Stone Coyote Calls and he is a master at his art.
He closed the distance to about 80 yards before deciding that BIG bush just did not look right and he came to a full stop. Through the scope I watched him move his head slightly side to side as if he just wasn't sure.....
I was sure as the cross hairs of the 4200 Elite lined up center of his chest. A 55 grain Seirra Game King from my trusty 22-250 was sent center mass. It was lights out and he was Stone Dead.
You can find Rudy in the custom calls forum under badtothebone or Stone Coyote Calls. Give his calls a try they are more than great looking...
the coyotes like them too.
Thanks Rudy for a great set of calls.

Hi Rudy,
You may recognize these two calls. I called this coyote in last Sunday morning before church using the enclosed reed that I worked like a fawn distress. My buddy missed (at close range??!!) but it stopped at about 212 yards when I kiyied with the open reed. The second round was good for the kill. These spalted calls are making a difference here on the Palouse one coyote at a time.
Rudy,
"First off I want to say thanks for the call.
Me and my 9 year old son Payton got to go out hunting for a morning hunt in Alabama. We sat on the first stand around 7am. I called for 20 seconds nice and easy. We waited for about 15minutes and nothing. I started calling again, but a little louder for about 25 to 30 seconds, but nothing for the next 30 minutes. My son was like a fish out of water~ flipping and flopping, crushing leaves and breaking limbs. I thought to my self, "this isn’t going to work." I brought a waist high blind so maybe it would hide some of his motion from the game. So into the 3rd calling I caught some movement from my right to my left. My heart jumped out of my chest. It was a yote! I told my son to hold his ears and I pulled up the 300wm and placed him in the cross hairs. At this time he started to run again. I guess when I told my son to cover his ears he heard it and stopped. He was about 100yards off. Right when he started to move again, I pulled the trigger. He lays down right there and dies. I hit him a little far back but still did the job.""

"On the first stand after about 10 minutes I had a group howl start up on me to my right maybe a 1/4 mile away. I stayed with the cotton tail distress untill they got quiet. Then gave them a challenge howl and some barks. They returned some trash talk. Gave back some pup getting whooped up on (Ki Yi) and this young male came in from the left." "Julie"
